Dr. Yao-Ying Ma’s group is in the process of joining the Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology at Indiana University School of Medicine, and is accepting applications for motivated postdoctoral researchers. Candidates with a Ph.D. degree in Neuroscience / Neurobiology / Behavioral Neuroscience / Biophysics or other related fields are highly encouraged to apply. Experience in in vivo single unit or in vitro patch clamp electrophysiological recordings, rodent brain surgeries, or behavioral manipulations is preferred.
Research in Dr. Ma’s group is supported by NIH and Brain & Behavior Research Foundation, etc. There are 3 major directions actively pursued, e.g., (1) synaptic adaptations induced by prenatal alcohol exposure; (2) neurosubstrates mediating long-term persistence of cocaine craving; (3) neural adaptations involved in psychiatric symptoms of Huntington's disease. The Ma lab utilizes molecular, biochemical, anatomical, electrophysiological, optogenetic, chemogenetics and behavioral approaches to elucidate neuroadaptations in diverse neuropsychiatric disorders. See more about the lab by click here ( web link: https://www.yaoyingmalab.org/).
Interested candidates should submit a cover letter, curriculum vitae, description of research goals, and names and contact information for three references.
