The applicant will serve as a member of the Core staff team and will have access to an extensive range of mass spectrometers (12 in the MSU Mass Spectrometry and Metabolomics Core including three quadrupole and one time-of-flight GC/MS instruments, four triple quadrupole UHPLC/MS/MS systems, two QTof UHPLC/MS/MS systems, one linear ion trap UHPLC/MS/MS instrument, and one MALDI-TOF instrument).
Doctorate -Biochemistry, Chemistry, or closely related
Ph.D. in Biochemistry, Chemistry, or closely related field;
Demonstrated self-motivation and record of independent learning;
Proven ability to conduct collaborative research and have effective interactions with collaborators from a broad range of scientific disciplines;
Demonstrated achievements in design and execution of quantitative liquid chromatography/tandem mass spectrometry (LC/MS/MS) or gas chromatography/mass spectrometry (GC/MS) analyses of small molecules including data processing;
Track record of effective working as a team member;
Ability to organize, write, and present written and oral presentations of achievements;
Ability to balance multiple simultaneous projects and meet project milestones and reporting deadlines.
