The Senior Development Associate is an integral contributor to the seamless workflow of the Bouvé College of Health Sciences' ('BCHS) Office of Advancement at Northeastern University. The Senior Development Associate [SDA] will have direct responsibilities that support BCHS' fundraising efforts through the implementation of back-office, operational services and the facilitation of pipeline development activities. The SDA oversees and implements Bouvé's stewardship program, data collection, analysis and reporting to inform and support the activities of Bouvé's frontline fundraising team.
Reporting to the Director of Development for the BCHS, the SDA will be responsible for administrative and financial activities, such as gift processing, tracking expenditures, coordinating travel logistics, and assisting with donor outreach, BCHS events, and other development-specific projects.
The ideal candidate for this position is highly-motivated, detail-oriented, and exhibits a high level of professionalism. This individual is an exceptionally organized, independent problem-solver able to effectively multi-task, who also possesses excellent analytical, communication and customer service skills.
Bachelor's degree required; Masters preferred.
Three to five (3- 5) years of professional experience required, preferably in development and higher education, or equivalent years of demonstrated success in a comparable position.
Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities and projects at once with ease and efficiency.
Possess interpersonal skills necessary for building relationships with external (donors, prospects, trustees) and internal (deans, faculty, staff, colleagues) constituents, and enjoys collaborating with people.
Impeccable attention to detail and accuracy. Proficiency required with data input, data extraction, and assembly of data and information (i.e., for Salesforce pipeline reports, mailings, guest lists). Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Proven ability to analyze data, problem-solve, research information, coordinate projects prepare and present recommendations, and anticipate opportunities and obstacles.
Must be able to exercise absolute discretion and good judgment when dealing with confidential and sensitive material.
Ability to work with independently, take the initiative, follow through on tasks, and collaborate effectively with colleagues and external constituents at all levels using a highly collaborative approach.
Ability to maintain standards of professional competence and adhere to a professional code of conduct.
Must possess a strong knowledge of Microsoft Office software and a strong technical understanding of database management and reporting; Experience with Salesforce a plus.
Familiarity with the purpose and function of development and an interest in building a career in advancement preferred.
