The University of Cincinnati Blue Ash College Allied Health Department invites applications for an Adjunct Instructor – Supervising Dentist position in our Dental Hygiene Program. UC Blue Ash is the largest regional college in Ohio and one of the largest colleges at the University of Cincinnati. We are an open access college and offer primarily associate degrees with an enrollment of approximately 5100 students. All applicants for this position must be proficient in English, have strong communication skills, and be an effective clinical facilitator who enjoys teaching in a culturally diverse, student-centered environment.
Supervising Dentist Adjunct Faculty responsibilities may include: review health histories; order radiographs; approve sealants; perform cursory exams and review the dental chartings for decay and/or defective issues on each clinical patient; provide radiographic interpretations; identify referrals for patients; prescribe/dispense emergency medications; be available to answer questions on the health history, pathology, clinical treatment; assist in management of medical emergencies; supervise all clinical sessions, reference for any questions that faculty/students may have regarding patient care; and provide supervision on UC Smiles, Community Dental Days, and ADEX Board Examinations. Teaching is assigned on an as-needed, semester-by-semester basis.
Minimum Qualifications: The supervising dentist must hold a Doctor of Dental Surgery or Doctor of Medical Dentistry degree and have licensure in the State of Ohio.
Ideal Qualifications: Clinical teaching experience in a dental hygiene/dental program. Experience in the Eaglesoft dental software program and digital radiography.
