This position requires staffing our hospital client service area. It requires providing excellent customer service to clients who bring their pets here for treatment. It involves registrations and discharging the client and both making sure that the proper charges are posted and that the correct payments are applied. It also requires being able to communicate effectively with staff and clinicians.
Responsibilities include calling for a triage when clients come into the ER with an emergency; processing all intake paperwork; discharging paperwork, and managing the client/doctor interactions. The individual will also answer the ER phone lines and assist clients with deciding if their pet needs to come to the ER; advise when to call Poison Control; transfer calls from referring veterinarians to the ER doctors. Individual will monitor and maintain the transfer board; work with Medical Records to make sure the ES charts are added to the medical record; make copies and keep all forms stocked. Perform other duties as assigned.
