We are seeking a full-time Research Laboratory Technician Intermediate/Associate to work in the interdisciplinary lab of Dr. Idse Heemskerk to pursue basic science in the Department of Cell & Developmental Biology. The lab studies spatial organization and differentation of human pluripotent stem cells.
The candidate will assume responsibility for performing routine lab work and data analysis including cell culture, molecular cloning, immunohistochemistry, fluorescence microscopy, and image analysis. Additional responsibilities include acquiring and analyzing data under the guidance of graduate students or postdoctoral fellows and other duties as assigned.
The applicant should be highly motivated, detail-oriented and methodical, and able to work as part of a team. The ideal candidate is good at multi-tasking and has strong communication skills.
Research Lab Tech Associate: HS Diploma or Assoc Degree and 0-1 year experience is required. Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
Research Lab Tech Intermediate: HS Diploma or Assoc Degree and 1-3 years experience is required. Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
Bachelor’s Degree in Biology or a related science degree and matching lab research experience.
Proficiency in part or all of the following is preferred: mammalian cell culture, molecular cloning, fluorescence microscopy, quantitative image analysis, programming**
