This is a full-time, benefits eligible opportunity working Monday-Friday from 8:00 am-4:30 pm (with weekends and nights as needed).
The Career Development Program Manager creates and manages comprehensive programs and services for the career development of NWHSU students designed to assist students in successfully exploring, developing, and securing career and other post-graduation opportunities. Plans, develops, and oversees a broad range of career exploration and planning, job search and advising services. Serves as a liaison between the University and external stakeholders to build partnerships with an emphasis on the development, growth and expansion of employment opportunities for students and alumni.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
Provide leadership for career development programming across all majors that support NWHSU's strategic goals in collaboration with Academic Affairs, Alumni Services, Clinical Education, and external partners
Establish and build relationships with a wide range of employers and external partners to increase job opportunities for students
Collect, record, and maintain records on employers, recruiters and graduate employment outcomes
Research current best practices and employment trends
Create and disseminate marketing materials and increase online social media presence
Bachelor's degree is required
Master's degree in the field of higher education, college student personnel, career counseling, human resources, or related field is strongly preferred
1-3 years of experience
In-depth knowledge of employment and recruiting policies, trends, and best practices
Strong organizational and follow through skills with attention to detail and the ability to work efficiently and independently. Able to coordinate complex projects and events with accuracy and timeliness
Ability to use resources efficiently, meet deadlines, and keep others informed of work plans and progress toward goals.
Ability to work with a diverse student and alumni population
Exceptional networking, marketing, and communication skills, including excellent writing and presentation skills
High level of ownership, accountability, and initiative toward employer relations
Collaborative, self-directed, outcome-oriented, and strong customer service presence
Experience with student and staff development and training
Proven ability to resolve conflicts and work effectively in a team environment as well as ability to work independently to achieve departmental goals
Technical and computing skills including utilization of social media to connect and promote programs/events/services
Flexibility for night and weekend work
Strong interpersonal skills, oral and written communication skills are required
Ability to establish and maintain effective work relationships with the NWHSU community including alumni, faculty, staff, students, employers, external partners, and the health community
Ability to strategize, implement and build programs/services that support institutional goals
Ability to manage multiple work assignments/projects that require support for a variety of employees and volunteers at one time
Experience working in higher education preferred, but not required
Experience with healthcare related fields and/or knowledge of chiropractic, acupuncture, Chinese medicine, massage therapy, and/or pre-med professions are preferred but not required
