The School of Nursing is seeking a non-tenured track faculty. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing leadership contributing to the advancement of patient care and nursing scholarship within the School of Nursing. This individual will become a valued faculty member of the Division of Advanced Nursing Practice.
This position will also work towards strengthening the academic, clinical, and research presence of the School of Nursing with clinical partners, focusing initially on University Hospital. Initially, the work will focus upon the interface between quality and safety issues of University Hospital and DNP terminal projects that might be conducted at University Hospital. These areas will begin with a focus on the NDNQI indicators, with special emphasis upon areas of clinical need, for example wound care. The incumbent will also have expertise which could be capitalized upon to collaborate around such things as fostering and implementing systemness, ambulatory practice design, population health outcomes and care utilization across the continuum. The position will work closely with the Associate Dean for Advanced Practice and the CEO of the Rutgers Health Center, the School of Nursing's FQHC.
Other duties will include: -Represent the SON on UH committees as appropriate -Assist in the placement of all Rutgers's SON student in clinical rotations, externships, residencies, and fellowships. -Assist in developing project resources through grants and extramural funding to support the collaborative work between UH and the SON -Support the work of the Rutgers Health Center (FQHC) and their role in collaboration and cooperation with UH and the broader Newark community.

Minimum Education and Experience:
PhD or Doctorate – area of expertise or focus of program of research, that links to our educational mission and vision
Eligibility for appointment at least at the rank of Clinical Assistant Professor non-tenured track whose program of scholarship has had successful extramural support and is published in peer- reviewed, quality health-related journals
Applicants should have a focused program of scholarship in an area complementary to nursing science
Skill at grant writing as evidence by securing extramural support for research
Expertise in teaching and mentorship of undergraduate and graduate students
Demonstrated expertise in teaching identified courses that complement the programs of study at the School of Nursing
Registered Nurse (or willing to acquire NJ RN license) but not required based on clinical or didactic teaching
The School of Nursing is particularly interested in areas of genomics, community-based participatory work, self and family illness management, gerontology, HIV and infectious diseases, child health and social determinants of health.
