The Center for Energy, Economic and Environmental Policy (CEEEP) of the Bloustein School of Planning and Public Policy in conjunction with the Rutgers Energy Institute, Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is accepting applications for one post-doctoral position in the areas of electric power system modeling. The position is for twelve months but may be extended depending on results and available funding.
As part of a recently awarded National Science Foundation grant (CMMI-1825225), this project involves investigating the strategic behavior of market and non-market actors that account for the fundamental physics of the infrastructure system in question and discovering important research and policy results to understand and improve outcomes. The post-doctoral position will focus on modeling the electric power sector that support insightful and timely policy analyses.
Minimum Education and Experience:
The ideal candidate will have completed a Ph.D. in operations research, electrical engineering, power systems engineering, or industrial engineering by May 2019 with a strong background and publication record in power flows analysis, dispatch, unit commitment, generation and transmission expansion planning, equilibrium program with equilibrium constraints (EPEC) and mathematical program with equilibrium constraints (MPEC).
