The Executive Director provides direct oversight for occupancy management, conference services, residence life, and living-learning programs, as well as collaborative oversight of facilities to oversee facilities management of the residence halls, housekeeping, renovations, and construction projects. The Executive Director is responsible for establishing and implementing short- and long-range organizational goals, objectives, strategic plans, policies, and operating procedures; monitoring and evaluating programmatic and operational effectiveness; and enacting changes required for continuous improvement. Coordinates and implements crisis management and emergency response protocols. Must be a visionary and highly collaborative leader with the ability to facilitate organizational change to adapt to the changing needs of students. The Executive Director will also be innovative, possess a passion for the student experience at North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University.
The Executive Director, Housing and Residence Life provides leadership, vision, and management direction for student housing. Reporting to Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs, the incumbent serves as the senior housing officer of the University and oversees a comprehensive housing program designed to promote the University's learning and student success-centered mission. The director is responsible for coordinating extensive strategic planning, goal setting, and assessment initiatives; implements best practices related to residential life programs and services; provides direction and oversight of 13 million dollar budgeting, long-term financial forecasts, physical plant and facility operations, conferencing, and administrative operations; ensures effective marketing and retention efforts to maximize occupancy; and directs emergency preparedness and crisis response efforts. The director provides leadership that ensures programs and services are aligned with the department's goals. Ensures that academic, social, recreational, cultural, and safety programs and services facilitate a living environment conducive to student success and directly oversees related assessment efforts.

A Master's degree and at least five years of experience at the senior level in housing and residence life. This position must have knowledge and experience with Banner and RMS. Supervisory experience in residential education, living learning communities, facility management and budget management on a comprehensive university campus is also required. Successful candidate must also be knowledgeable about best practices for the profession and possess effective communication, customer service and human relations skills. The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to effectively interact with a diverse student, faculty and staff population, provide evidence of effective written and oral communication skills and have the capacity for novel and creative issue resolution.
At least 10 years of experience in housing & residence life. Experience with Banner and RMS systems.
