This position will perform, provide and prepare/certify Diagnostic Medical Physics Support and Services. The ideal candidate should demonstrate experience in equipment certification and inspections, dosimetry calculation, and maintaining and certifying others in one or more of the following modalities; computed radiography, digital radiography, fluoroscopy, computed tomography, mammography, magnetic resonance imaging, positron emission tomography and nuclear medicine . Faculty will participate in all facets of radiology medical school, graduate and medical resident instruction and teaching, including teaching of both residents and graduate students.
Academic time will be used to pursue scholarly work in the candidate’s area of specialty/research expertise and to provide grant assistance to members of the diagnostic radiology faculty. Academic faculty will be active in their national organizations and foster an academic environment for medical students, residents and faculty.
The Department of Radiology of the University of Minnesota Medical School seeks a full time ABR board certified/eligible diagnostic medical physicist. Academic rank, compensation and appointment type will be based on qualifications and experience.
Candidates must have demonstrated ability in teaching and in scholarly productivity. Minimum requirements are a Ph.D. in medical physics or equivalent degree, certified by the American Board of Radiology and/or American Board of Medical Physics or be board-eligible.
