Essential Functions: Job PurposeThis position will report jointly to the Associate VP for Educational Outreach and International Program and Assistant VP for Institutional Research. The primary task is to provide comprehensive and high quality research and visual analytics to Educational Outreach and International programs, as well as other campus decision and policy-makers. Extract, manage and integrate data from various data sources (Banner ODS, Canvas, State and institution historical data repositories, IPEDS, Web, and other secondary sources)Perform statistical analysis and quantitative studies, prepare and present summary reports for AVP Educational Outreach and International Programs and other campus decision-makers and information consumersIdentify and design complex analytical studies and projects pertinent to all aspects of transfer, international, and outreach study needsPerforms other related duties as assigned
Qualifications: Education Master's degreeMaster's degree or higher preferably in statistics, social, behavioral or data sciences, or related field from an accredited university or collegeExperienced (minimum 2 years of job-related experience)Knowledge of statistics and research design; demonstrated experience with data analysis tools and software (e.g. SAS, R, STATA ); demonstrated experience with data visualization tools and software (e.g. Power BI, Cognos); demonstrated experience with large datasets or data warehouses, particularly within higher education; demonstrated experience with database management and querying (e.g. SQL, TOAD) Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesCOMPUTER SKILLS: Extensive knowledge of reporting analytics solutions (Power BI, SAS Enterprise Guide). Working knowledge of SQL and data extraction methodologies for metric development; Proficient in statistical software (SAS, SPSS or R). Proficient with computer applications and programs associated with the position (i.e. Microsoft Office suite).ORGANIZATION SKILLS: Excellent organizational skills including the ability to prioritize workload. Perform work with close attention to detail and handle multiple tasks or projects at one time with interruptions with meeting assigned deadlines. Demonstrates accuracy, thoroughness and consistency. Demonstrates a strong understanding of data sources, database, design, and development logic and constructs, especially as related to data warehouse technology.
