Reporting to the Director of Custodial Operations, the Manager, Training & Quality Assurance is responsible for developing and supporting a quality and reliable custodial training program to the new and existing staff in order to achieve standard service levels at the Morningside, Manhattanville and Baker Athletic Complex.
The Manager, will be responsible for developing, implementing and delivering a training program that supports the various service level agreements in place with regards to custodial services. Ensures compliance with recycling program as per University's standards; performs training on different tools, supplies and cleaning chemicals to ensure safe environment and consistency. Ensure compliance and understanding of employee personal protection (PPE).
Develop and implement a system to train staff on identifying and reporting all maintenance issues, damages and malfunctions or deficiency in their assigned areas of work in order to prevent further damages. Development and the use of training minimizes variation and promotes quality through consistent implementation of a process and procedure within the department.
Support the programmatic and fiscal strategy for achieving departmental goals. Monitor performance standards to meet service expectation and productivity measures to identify and track progress. Analyzes feedback and adjust programs, schedules and labor requirements accordingly.
Ensures all custodial activities and programs are accomplished in accordance with statutory requirements and regulatory guidelines. Performs other related duties as required.
Bachelor's degree required. A minimum of 4 to 6 years of related training experience required; preferably in a position of an increasing responsibility in custodial services preferably in a large complex organization including experience with quality assurance programs.
Demonstrated experience developing, implementing, delivering, and evaluating training programs. Strong writing and editing skills, as well as superior oral presentation skill including the ability to facilitate and present complex programmatic information in a variety of audience types.
Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills required. Must be able to handle high-volume work load, manage concurrent projects and work with deadlines. Previous experience in program management and evaluation, data collection and analysis desired. Must be able to work extended hours including evenings and weekends when required.
