Research Support - Laboratory/Non-Laboratory, Staff/Administrative
The Lab Administrative Manager is responsible for overall administrative duties in support of Principal Investigator (PI) and affiliated lab. Performs technical and executive level administrative tasks. Uses initiative, resourcefulness and good judgment to independently handle a wide variety of administrative duties beyond the scope of defined standard protocols. This includes coordinating heavy domestic and international travel arrangements, meetings, calendars, composing correspondence, project management, cost reductions, addressing inquiries, maintaining filing systems, processing paperwork, and assists investigator in personnel management. Serves as liaison to Administrative units (Payroll, Human Resources, Purchasing, IT etc.). Works closely with Institute departments such as Research Accounting and Grants.
Responsible for pre and post-award services to each PI and their research staff. Assists in the development of grant budgets. Maintains familiarity with federal and state grant rules and processes. Manages and monitors lab budgets in conjunction with PI. Provides reports and analyses related to fund management.
May take action on behalf of PI with appropriate discretion. May work both independently and as part of a team.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
Must be willing to work in an animal-related research environment.
Satisfactory completion of the Instituteâ™s background investigation.
Able to occasionally work a flexible schedule based on workload and deadlines.
Must be comfortable reporting to supervisor(s) remotely due to physical work location and supervisor's travel schedule.
Must be able to maintain confidentiality.
