The Brenton Center in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences at Iowa State University seeks applicants for a Communications Specialist to be hired at either a level II or III. This position will be responsible for communication efforts directed towards marketing AgOnline Learning courses/programs.
Overall communication efforts will consist of coordinating advertising campaigns, creating custom content, editing HTML, and synchronizing Customer Relationship Management (CRM) programs. Experience using Google AdWords, social media, MS Office, Adobe Creative Suite, and other associated software packages is desired. Additional experience in online course development, video production, website development, and web conferencing are preferred. The primary position objective is to produce marketing materials for prospective students; communicating the center's services to customers within the college and university; and representing the center.
The successful candidate will possess excellent communication skills both written and verbal as well as the ability to effectively communicate with a wide variety of people and work within a team environment. The candidate will also be adept in learning new software and possess the ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships. All college employees are expected to interact collegially and in a professional manner and maintain the highest standards of integrity and ethics.
Required Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree and 1 year of related experience.
Preferred Education and Experience:
Experience with Adobe Suites, including Illustrator, InDesign and Photoshop.
Experience working with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) programs.
Experience using marketing to recruit a specific candidate or customer.
All accrued vacation must be taken during the term of this appointment. Unused vacation will be forfeited upon resignation or termination from ISU.
