The software engineer will support an array of exciting interdisciplinary research projects taking place in the lab and will help increase the impact of our work. The initial focus of the position will be on pathogen and bio-threat identification for bio-defense applications, but broadly will focus on DNA sequence alignment, metagenomics, and phylogenomics. We are specifically looking for an experienced software engineer who can lead the development and implementation of sequence analysis workflows in support of current bioinformatics projects in the lab, with focus on sequence classification, functional annotation, and pathway analysis.
