LEADERSHIP GIVING OFFICER , School of Engineering (SOE)-Nuclear Science and Engineering (NSE),Deshpande Center for Technological Innovation (DCTI), Office of Engineering Outreach Programs (OEOP) , to create and execute a comprehensive strategic development plan designed to raise awareness, strengthen relationships, and garner financial support for NSE, DCTI, and OEOP. Will work collaboratively with the NSE department head, DCTI and OEOP executive directors, key faculty and investigators, administrative officer, education director, and events/communications staff to increase the visibility of the three areas and establish a thriving community of supporters (both philanthropic and industry partnerships); build, manage, and collaborate on a portfolio of donors and industry prospects; and collaborate with MIT's central prospect management teams and colleagues within the SOE's Resource Development group and MIT's Office of Corporate Relations to identify and engage prospective donors and industry partners. Responsibilities will include helping to arrange faculty meetings, site tours, and events; creating materials and disseminating NSE/DCTI/OEPO-related content and collateral; taking part in face-to-face donor/industry partner/prospect visits and strategically orchestrating meetings and other interactions between faculty/staff with prospects, donors, and industry partners; helping maximize the department head/executive directors/faculty's travel to engage with prospective donors and industry partners; and keeping donor/prospect records updated.
REQUIRED : bachelor's degree, preferably in an engineering or scientific field; three years' direct fund-raising experience, preferably in a higher education organization; excellent organizational, project management, time management, interpersonal, public speaking, and oral and written communication skills; discretion with confidential information; ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, adapt quickly to change, and work both independently and as a team member; initiative; and high-level proficiency with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and prospect management or other CRM systems.
