Duties and Responsibilities: Loyola University Chicago's School of Continuing and Professional Studies (SCPS) invites applications for a non-tenure track faculty position at the rank of Clinical Assistant Professor of Computer Science/Information Technology. This appointment will begin July 1, 2017. Responsibilities will include the following: Teaching a variety of courses in our business oriented bachelor's program for Information Technology and in the Computer Science certificate, including some teaching of School requirements (CPST 200 Introduction to Degree Completion, CPST 201 Professional Identity and Development, and CPST 397 Capstone). Teaching introductory courses in the program such as COMP 170 Introduction to Object-oriented Programming, COMP 271 Data Structures and Applications and CPST 325 Data Processing Analysis and Visualization. Advising students and assisting with curriculum, program, and faculty development.
Minimum Qualifications: Academic and Professional Qualifications include a minimum of an earned master's degree, doctorate strongly preferred. It is desirable to have a background in data analytics in the business setting. Appointment as Clinical Assistant Professor is contingent on completed doctorate.
Preferred Qualifications: Criteria for this hire: Excellence in teaching adults, experience helping develop adult learning programs, experience teaching online, strong organizational and collaboration skills, ability to use technology in the classroom, and a willingness to serve the university, profession, and community. We are interested in candidates who have significant professional experience outside of higher education.
