The Industry Specialist - Accounting is an integral member of the Weston Career Center team that serves to support Industry Specialist Lead in ensuring students are prepared for the technical aspects of the recruiting process within their assigned industry.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Execute and facilitate industry programs to educate students about roles, functions, the recruiting process, and offer feedback and insights that contribute to the development of programming
Execute and facilitate technical interview prep through interaction with student clubs, mock interviews, and small group advising
Choose content for programming, decide best methods of preparation for technical interview prep, and best method to reach students with information
Provide one-on-one career advising to students
Develop tailored action plans to help students on technical prep (case interview math, stock pitch, mental models, etc.)
Deliver actionable feedback to students and Undergraduate Programs team on student preparation and progression
Identify individual student needs, goals, challenges for industry recruiting success
Determine and design customized plans for each student according to their individual needs; decide on student’s preparation status and what is still required to fully prepare them for interviews; determine any additional resources are required to ensure student success in industry
Stay current on changing recruiting process and interview formats, and reflect programming to adjust to changes
Partner with industry directors, employers, alums, Olin faculty and programs teams on industry related topics, training, events and speakers
Bachelor’s degree plus 1 year of work experience in industry related role
Master’s degree in higher education, business, or in a related field
Experience with advising students in career advising
Experience of working with students groups/related organizations
Relevant industry experience
The hiring range for this position is $22.17 - $28.27 per hour.
