The Center for Research Computing at the University of Notre Dame aims to become an internationally preeminent multidisciplinary research computing and cyberinfrastructure development center based upon our reputation for facilitating and accelerating discovery through effective and novel applications of cyberinfrastructure. Job Description: Reporting directly to the Director of the Center for Research Computing the Senior Administrative Assistant (SAA) assists primarily the Director but also Associate and Assistant Directors, CRC Staff, and CRC Faculty in all administrative and operational aspects of the Center and serves as the primary administrative interface with university units and supporting service contractors. The ideal individual would have the ability to exercise good judgment in a variety of situations, with strong written and verbal communication, administrative and organizational skills, and the ability to maintain a realistic balance among multiple priorities. The SAA works independently on projects, or is part of a team. The position manages students who are hired to help with different duties. The position takes direction from the Center's Assistant Director of Operations and Special Projects. In addition, this position works closely as a team member with the administrative assistant (AA). The position assists and is a full back up for the position of AA at times of his/her absence.
Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED 3 to 4 years professional administrative experience -Excellent communication and detailed organizational skills, and a high level of professionalism in dealing with people. - Eagerness to take ownership and be efficient and adaptive. Strong writing and editing skills, and computer skills including proficiency in technical word processing and spreadsheet software applications. - In-depth knowledge of university administrative policies, procedures, and operation is required. - Financial and accounting skills commensurate with the operation of a multimillion dollar a year research organization. - Able and willing to learn new necessary computer software.
Preferred Qualifications: Bachelors degree
