Major Duties: General summary: Provides administrative and budgetary support for the supervisor and the department.- Uses word-processing and spreadsheet software to produce and edit a substantial variety of letters, memos, reports, statistical tables, and other documents. - Answers non-routine questions regarding the department; refers questions as needed. - Explains departmental policies and procedures. - Monitors, tracks and reconciles a budget(s). Prepares budget reports and may recommend allocations.- Maintains a database: verifies, updates, and enters data. - Schedules appointments and coordinates meetings; makes travel arrangements. - Monitors and orders departmental supplies. - Typically engages in some office management and/or project work. - May provide guidance and direction to student employees.- May update the content of the department's website.
Minimum Qualifications: - High school diploma or equivalent. - One year of relevant experience. - Proficiency with word-processing and spreadsheet software.- Experience with querying databases and budget entry and tracking.
