This job is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and general operation of high technology patient simulators, lower technology task trainers, clinical equipment, and related multimedia peripherals used in the training of healthcare professionals from all specialties. Demonstrates and/or teach technical aspects of operating the simulators and related equipment to center staff, faculty members, and others when appropriate. Assists educators with the development of customized simulation activities which enhance learning through the incorporation of appropriate simulation technologies. Assists with simulation related research efforts as designated.
Advertised Minimum Qualifications :
Graduation from accredited training program and 6 years experience, or high school diploma and 8 years related experience. Licensure, Registry or Certification Required. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification within 1 year of employment. Must become BLS/ACLS certified within 1 year of employment.
Valid driver's license, an acceptable three-year motor vehicle record as defined by the Acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) Chart, and a certificate of auto insurance. May be required to obtain a Class B Commercial Driver's License if needed to operate the Mobile Simulation Unit. Flexibility and service orientation are required. Must be able to vary schedule and to work overtime, occasionally with minimal notice, as client activities dictate.
