The Biomedical Engineering (BME) Department at the New Brunswick/Piscataway Campus invites applications for Summer Instructors for graduate and undergraduate courses during the summer semester, which runs from May 28, 2019 through August 14, 2019. The courses may include any element of the BME curriculum including systems biology and anatomy, materials properties, biocompatibility testing, basic patent writing, medical device regulatory approvals and the ability to help students design and test medical devices. The successful candidate will cover the full range of duties associated with teaching, including, but not limited to, preparing course material; creating and posting a course syllabus; presenting material during the assigned course times; holding office hours and providing appropriate out-of-class time for students; responding to student e-mails; conducting and grading assessments of students through assignments, exams, and other means, in a timely manner; and submitting final grades.
Minimum Education and Experience:
Masters required with relevant professional experience. For most courses, Doctorate required. Prior teaching experience is also preferred.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills a must. Demonstrated ability to teach at the university level is highly desired.
