Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Mental Health Clinician III for the Adult Outpatient Services department in Edison, NJ at Rutgers, University Behavioral Health Care.
The Mental Health Clinician III provides outpatient mental health services that demonstrate cultural sensitivity and meet the needs of designated UBHC consumers.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
Evaluates consumer needs and delivers therapeutic interventions incorporating evidence based individual, group, and family therapy as appropriate for mental health and co-occurring substance use issues.
Assesses treatment needs and provides evidence based treatment in individual, group, and family therapy formats suited to the needs of the individuals served.
Makes appropriate clinical decisions regarding disposition and referrals.
Assumes overall case management responsibilities for individuals assigned to caseload.
Maintains clinical documentation standards as mandated by University Behavioral Health Care policy and other applicable accreditation and certification entities.
Develops and applies knowledge of trends and advancements in the field of practice.
Minimum Education and Experience:
Minimum of a Master's Degree in a Mental Health or related discipline and a New Jersey license, as required by discipline.
Applicants possessing a Degree in Social Work must have an active New Jersey certification/licensure as required by the State Board of Social Work.
Licensed in New Jersey to provide mental health services as an independent practitioner (e.g., LCSW, LPC, LMFT, Psychology license).
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Demonstrated competency in treating children, adolescents, adults and families, including those with co-occurring disorders.
Demonstrated ability to assess level of care needs and provide outpatient group therapy treatment.
Sufficient computer literacy to effectively use the electronic medical record (EMR), email, Internet/Intranet.
Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LCADC).
Experience treating children.
Bilingual skills (English/Spanish).
May be required to work at least (1) evening per week.
