Rutgers University Behavioral Health Care (UBHC) is dedicated to excellence in providing behavioral health services to the people of New Jersey. We are seeking a Staff Nurse for our Intensive Recovery Treatment Support (IRTS) Program. Conducts initial and ongoing Nursing Assessments on individuals in the NJ State Prisons as well as in community settings.
Provides nursing services and participates in the delivery of person-centered, individualized, goal-directed nursing.
Provides individuals with health and wellness education.
Links individuals to community based services.
Assesses individuals for potential crises; responds appropriately to physical, psychological and environmental crises to assure safety.
Collaborates with treatment team and the individual(s) served in the development of an individualized treatment/recovery plan of care.
Ensures documentation meets all clinical and regulatory requirements.
Regularly attends and participates in in-service meetings and other training events; maintains current knowledge, licensure and certification.
Meets all annual requirements and keeps abreast of all pertinent federal, state, and Rutgers' regulations, laws, and policies.
Minimum Education and Experience:
Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of New Jersey.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Ability to problem solve and handle multiple priorities.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to direct staff.
Ability to work effectively with multi-disciplinary team.
One (1) year of experience in substance abuse.
Experience with community based service provision to adults with addictions.
Must have valid driver's license and possess own vehicle or alternate means of transportation for use to outreach individuals.
Ability to travel throughout the state.
