Under the supervision of the Registered Dental Assistant Supervisor, Extended Function, the Dental Assistant is the primary resource for sterilization of operatories and instruments, must be knowledgeable of all OSHA standards for infection control and sterilization (required). The incumbent is responsible for taking, developing, and mounting x-rays. Must have accurate knowledge and be licensed to take all periapical and bite wing x-rays (required). The incumbent disinfects the operatories and does the procedure set-ups. Must be familiar with dental infection control procedures (required). The incumbent assists the Dental Provider with 4 handed dentistry. Must know how to mix dental materials and must know how to perform 4 handed dentistry, assisting the Dentist in all procedures (required). The incumbent does all preventative maintenance of all dental equipment.
