Reporting to the Senior Associate Dean of Academic Affairs, the Assistant Dean will provide oversight and administrative oversight to all programming within SPS's Masters Programs. The MS portfolio currently consists of 14 Masters Programs, with additional MS programs over the next 2-5 years. The AD will collaborate with the relevant stakeholders to develop and implement long-term portfolio management plan, growth and academic excellence goals, and strategies to mitigate risk, as well as contribute to relevant program development initiatives. The AD will work closely with the Programs to ensure that quality and academic goals for the division overall and the component programs are being achieved. The AD will work with the academic directors and administrative directors and other relevant stakeholders to plan, evaluate, and optimize strategic plans for all programs: establish and achieve annual program goals and financials, enrollment targets, infrastructure and personnel plans, and program budgets. Additionally, the AD will collaborate with the Senior Associate Dean for Academic Affairs in managing the Academic Excellence Committee.

a. In conjunction with the Senior Associate Dean, define criteria for success and ensure effective realization of program objectives with a keen focus on optimizing academic and financial/resource outcomes balancing expansion and quality control interests, and embracing open-mindedly the challenges of the fast-paced, ever-changing educational landscape to meet SPS's goals.
b. Continuously monitor and improve service delivery models for each program to provide the
most appropriate prospect/applicant/student/alumni experiences and/or outcomes
c. Collaborate with academic leadership and other relevant stakeholders to oversee the review of
the School's programming portfolio on an annual basis and consult on the development of new
program as they emerge
d. Ensure effective utilization of resources and alignment of program activities with the mission,
vision, and values of the School through SPS's program portfolio management
e. In conjunction with the Associate Dean of Academic Affairs and the Academic Directors,
oversee the program level annual operating budget process with the relevant stakeholders in
Finance for review and approval, oversee the divisional and report accurately on progress made and challenges encountered
f. Oversee and implement long-term portfolio management plan, growth and academic excellence goals.
g. Ensure that all program activities operate consistently and ethically within the mission and
values of SPS and are in alignment with academic standards and financial growth objectives
h. Oversee the program level directors in the annual review process.
i. Participate in meetings with the Associate Dean, Academic Affairs and Academic Directors,
providing transparency to members on the progress and status of the program with an eye on
academic and financial criteria.
j. Oversees the program calendar to collaborate with Academic Directors to ensure activities can
be completed within timeframes. Ensures the submissions of the CPS for each program, reviews class schedules, events, and works with other internal stakeholders to ensure that program activities meet established standards, timelines, and goals.
k. Responsible for communications across the MS Programs.
l. Collaborate with the Senior Associate Dean in managing the Academic Excellence Committee, which ensures the academic rigor of SPS academic offerings. Monitor academic, student, and
faculty objectives and report progress based upon the identified metrics for academic
excellence. With the senior leadership team, evaluate, monitor and refine academic strategic plans on an ongoing basis
m. Performs other duties and special projects as assigned or requested
7 - 9 years related experience. Master's degree required.
Demonstrated knowledge of instructional design, curriculum development, and educational technology best practice in the context of higher ED online, blended, and face-to-face programming.
Demonstrated experience developing online, blended, and face-to-face programming that creatively leverages new technologies.
Experience as an instructor in the context of higher ED degree programming
Experience teaching online, blended, or face-to-face formats
Demonstrated research interest in a field(s) related to education, curriculum and instruction and/or educational technology
Strong creative and process thinking abilities.
Ability to solve complex problems under time pressure.
Ability to work collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders who often hold competing interests.
Excellent organizational and management abilities.
