The Center for Integrative Studies (CIS) at Michigan State University invites applications for two full-time, fixed term Assistant Professor positions. These 9-month positions will begin August 16, 2019 and may be renewable annually contingent upon funding and demonstrated teaching effectiveness.
These are teaching positions focused on developing and delivering Integrative Studies in Social Science (ISS) courses. Successful candidates will play a critical role in the advancement of undergraduate ISS learning and student success initiatives. Successful candidates also will possess the qualifications and skills necessary to teach large enrollment 200 and 300 level undergraduate courses, mixed (hybrid) courses, and fully online courses.
Duties include teaching three courses (with up to two preparations) per semester, with the opportunity to teach online during the summer for overload pay. Successful candidates must deliver excellence in the classroom, effectively work with students from diverse social/economic/cultural backgrounds, and develop interdisciplinary courses that foster student learning and success. Salary and terms are negotiable based on experience.

Doctorate -Social Science or Related Discipline
Qualifications and skills necessary to teach an array of large enrollment 200 and 300 level undergraduate courses, mixed (hybrid) courses, and fully online courses. Demonstrated commitment to teaching excellence.
Innovative and thoughtful approach to developing and teaching interdisciplinary courses that foster student success and inspire engaged learning. Ability to effectively work with students from diverse social/economic/cultural backgrounds.
