Job Description Summary
Assist the Director of Sports Nutrition and sports medicine staff with nutrition services provided to 16 Division 1 sports. Work as an interdisciplinary member of the sports nutrition and strength and conditioning staff as well as with the strength and conditioning staff, sport coaches and DIA administrators.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
Duties include but are not limited to:
Assist with team game day operations for pre/post-competition meals, catering, hydration, and supplementation
Actively assist to manage assigned team recovery, and optimize all aspects of nutrition related to student athlete practice, and strength and conditioning sessions
Develop and design educational materials with the sports dietitian
Conduct individual nutrition assessments and consultations
Assist other staff members with monitoring of team meals and snacks
Assist with managing, stocking, and organization of supplies for fueling and recovery station
Research, analyze, and translate scientific and lay reports related to nutrition and athletic performance, including nutritional supplements and dietary guidelines
Assist in the management of performance nutrition social media accounts
Perform additional duties deemed necessary by the performance nutrition, sports medicine as well as the strength & conditioning staff.
Qualifications, Minimum Education, & Experience
Bachelor's degree in nutrition or related field
RD or RD eligible (preferred)
Knowledge of nutritional principles as they relate to athletic performance
Ability to work a non-standard workweek which may include nights, weekends, and holidays
Effective oral and written communication skills
Strong interpersonal skills
Excellent time and priority management skills
Ability to work independently and follow through on assignments
Ability to work as an integral part of the sports nutrition team
