The Professional Sales Forum (PSF) consists of 25companies including AT&T, PepsiCo, Whirlpool and MondelezInternational.The Forum's coporatepartners receive a host of benefits, including seats at two annual conferencesand concierge help with student recruiting. This position necessitates someonewith sales expertise to lead the PSF.This will include a wide range of activities focused on recruiting andmaintaining corporate partnerships as well as overseeing all activities of theProfessional Sales Forum and student sales competitions.
In addition to corporate relationship management, therole will generate revenue by developing and implementing a long-rangestrategic plan. The income from the corporate partnerships is critical tosupport a wide range of activities in the Department of Marketing.
This position reports to the head of the MarketingDepartment and coordinates with multiple offices within and beyond the UTcommunity. It works closely with students and also supervises a Forum Manager whoorganizes all events, handles invoicing and collection, and responds tonumerous special requests from corporate partners as well as administeringspecial programs like the Professional Sales Leadership program.
Specific responsibilities of the position include:
·Developand implement a long-range strategic plan for the Professional Sales Forum witha clear value proposition, a communication strategy and revenue outcomes.
·Withinthat strategic plan, maintain, retain and recruit corporate partners usingprofessionally developed sales skills and knowledge. This includes maintaining"high touch" relationships with corporate partners.
·Coordinatewith internal and external customers such as the Marketing Department, theHaslam College of Business (both the dean's office and Graduate and ExecutiveEducation), the UT Foundation, the larger University of Tennessee community andsenior executives of corporate partners
·Developand implement annual budget to reach strategically developed goals.
·Initiatea wide range of communications to increase visibility of the Professional Salesprogram.
·Engagewith students to prepare them for sales competitions, lunches and recruitingevents.
·Synthesizeacademic research and current professional trends to develop Forum meetings.
·Managestudents and Professional Sales Forum staff with clear and consistent focus onstrategic goals.
