A Postdoctoral Fellow position is available in the Department of Physiology at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center to conduct NIH-funded research on diabetes, with a focus on molecular and cellular mechanism of beta cell dysfunction and insulin signaling disruption. Our laboratory takes an integrative approach by utilizing an in vitro cell culture system, an ex vivo isolated beta cell, viral-based gene therapy, stem cell therapy, and in vivo analysis of rodent models. The incumbent will join a dynamic research team that stands in the forefront of diabetes research. This position is for a one-year appointment, but has the potential to be renewed. This position is ideal for highly motivated individuals who prepare for an independent faculty position.
This Postdoctoral Fellow will receive training in a wide array of genetic, molecular, biochemical, and integrative physiological methods.
