The Research Assistant providessupport for a research project to assist in the development and evaluation ofan educational program designed to increase the interest of 6th and 9th gradestudents in cancer related research.
Assists in the development and teaching of a curriculum content to introduce students to cancer related research.
Assists with identifying innovative ways to engage students in learning and maintaining motivation for continued participation.
Conducts literature searches to identify best practices for science education.
Researches and identifies best venue and setting for student learning.
Organizes meetings and conference calls with community partners.
Communicates study progress to community partners through newsletters and other media.
Conducts surveys to receive feedback from program participants regarding the experience of the program.
Gathers and updates materials needed for grant and other investigator-related activities.
Orders and maintains supply inventory.
Performs other duties as needed.
