This position is responsible for providing administrative and financial support functions for the Director of Distance Education and for facilitating, coordinating and monitoring the status of projects for the Director in the School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences (SHRS).
Responsibilities include support for strategic planning, event planning, and project management for school-wide distance education initiatives, as well as managing administrative functions associated with the Director's Office and associated personnel. The incumbent functions autonomously in managing administrative responsibilities, with minimal or no supervision and must be able to manage, prioritize and coordinate several activities and/or projects and perform tasks simultaneously. Effective oral and written communication skills are required as is the ability to maintain confidentiality.
The position requires an individual who is highly motivated, detail-oriented, and organized. The incumbent must be proficient in Microsoft Office. This position interacts with University level personnel in the Provost and Senior Vice Chancellor of the Health Sciences offices, SHRS department chairs, the Dean's Office, administrators, faculty, staff, and numerous external stakeholders. This position reports directly to the Director of Distance Education in SHRS.
A qualified candidate must have at least three years of related experience in higher education administration and demonstrated success in an administrative professional position providing support of the organization's executives.

Must possess thorough knowledge of office procedures, purchasing, financial and budget reports. Proven experience in administrative responsibilities for leaders in higher education. Familiarity with distance education an advantage.
