Research - Laboratory/Non-Laboratory, Staff/Administrative
Summary of Position: Primary roles are to conduct and coordinate plant growth management and/or molecular lab experiments. Provide technical support and research as required such as supervision responsibilities, technical guidance/training other members, and lab management responsibilities including ordering supplies, maintaining equipment, and ensuring safety compliance.
Essential and Other Functions: 40% Research Monitor plant growth and perform phenotyping for stress response. Carry out molecular lab experiments (cloning, genotyping).
40% Lab Management Assist in lab set-up. Ordering supplies. Developing standardized protocols. Training new group members.
20% Data Analysis Perform computational data analysis of large next-generation sequencing and metabolomics datasets.
Essential Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in biological sciences or a related life science field, or education and experience related to the job totaling at least 4 years in combination. Previous lab research experiences and proficient computer skills.
Preferred Qualifications: Previous lab management experience. Previous plant research experience.
