Overview: This position is located in the College of Pharmacy’s Office of Student Services, a unit of the Professional Education Division.
This employee is responsible for recruitment for the PharmD program through planning, promoting and executing a variety of recruiting activities both on and off campus. This position also coordinates recruiting activities of student, faculty and alumni ambassadors. Success of this position will be measured by the ability to coordinate recruitment on a team implementing a broader strategy, and by evaluating numerical targets of prospects, applicants, admitted and matriculated students overall and among underrepresented minorities. This position includes frequent regional and occasional national travel. This position reports to the Associate Director of Admissions and Recruitment with a dotted line to the Director of Student Services.
Recruitment - 70% Represent the College of Pharmacy at a variety of on- and off-campus recruiting activities and events including but not limited to class visits, information sessions, career and college fairs, etc. Conduct scheduled and walk-in meetings on the Duluth campus with prospective students, applicants, and their families Maintain contact with prospective students and applicants through telephone, texting, letters, email, electronic media, and personal contact Serve as a supplemental advisor to UMD undergraduate pre-pharmacy students, providing guidance on appropriate course planning and preparation for pharmacy school Maintain strong relationships with college advisors of pre-pharmacy and pre-health students, high school guidance counselors, and other influencers; contribute to the maintenance of an advisor and influencer database Assist the Associate Director of Admissions & Recruiting and the Communications & Data Coordinator with the development of engaging messaging that highlights the unique strengths of the program and each campus Assist the Associate Director of Admissions & Recruitment with the exploration and development of pipeline programs
Recruitment Coordination (20%) Plan, promote, and execute on-campus recruiting events such as Interview Days, Preview Days, and Info Sessions; develop additional on-campus recruiting programming to showcase the Duluth campus Plan, promote, and execute off-campus recruiting events, including information sessions, college and career fairs, class presentations, and virtual fairs and information sessions Coordinate and provide support for faculty, staff, and student ambassador recruiting efforts including development of engaging presentations, visit scheduling, event logistics, and follow up Coordinate the PharmD Student Ambassador program on the Duluth campus, including planning and delivering training, managing ambassador sign-up for activities, and providing materials and support for ambassadors representing the PharmD program.
Team Support and Professional Development (10%) Provide administrative support to OSS on the Duluth campus. Assist OSS staff with meeting scheduling, room reservations, printing and copying meeting materials, etc. Function as a team member of OSS. Provide information to other team members and support them in the performance of their job responsibilities in a manner consistent with efficient operations and a service environment. Assist as needed for special events. Participate in professional development, service improvement efforts, and finding innovative ways to improve services offered in OSS. Carry out any other assigned office tasks that are essential to the professional operation of the unit.

Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree required or a combination of related education and work experience to equal four years. Preferred Qualifications: Two years of full-time experience in marketing, recruitment, or admissions. Educational background in marketing, communication, psychology, counseling or higher education student services Experience in admissions or student services in a professional school environment Familiarity with careers in pharmacy and changes in healthcare Experience using Slate or similar CRM system(s)
