Gannon University, a Catholic university, invites applications for the 12-month position of Advisor for Student Support Services (SSS). The successful candidate will provide quality advising services to SSS students and work as a member of the SSS team to meet grant-funded program goals. SSS offers programs and services for eligible students - meet one of the following criteria: low-income students, first-generation students, or students with disabilities - to increase student persistence, retention, and graduation among SSS participants.
Qualifications include a bachelor’s degree - with preference given to those holding a master’s degree in a related field (e.g., Higher Education, Education, Counseling or Student Personnel) and those with experience working with TRIO programs (i.e., Upward Bound, Student Support Services, and Talent Search). Knowledge of current theories and practices in higher education student development, retention, academic and career advising, and student support services, excellent verbal and written communication skills and strong computer skills are required. The successful candidate must be able to support and promote the University’s Mission.
