The Student Intern, under general supervision, will assist the Engineering Group with daily operations as a Surveyor/Computer Aided Drafting and Design (CAD) Technician Intern for the As-built, Real property, and GIS (ARG) Group.
Surveying and Drafting support for projects used in Architectural, Mechanical, Electrical, and Civil design
Development and updating of GIS data from various information sources
Additional survey and drafting support as required
Assessment, organization, and capturing of key drawing attributes for paper and electronic as-built documents
Required Education and Experience:
Presently enrolled for at least nine (9) graduate or six (6) undergraduate semester credit hours during the term in which the work is to be done.
Must be in good academic standing (SAP) as demonstrated through your college; minimum 2.0 GPA
No prior experience necessary
For work eligibility during a summer term, a student must be enrolled for at least six (6) graduate or undergraduate semester credit hours during the term in which the work is to be done or preregistered at least six (6) undergraduate semester hours or nine (9) graduate semester hours for the upcoming fall term.
Preferred Education and Experience:
Eligible candidate should have experience with AutoCAD software or classes in a construction management, survey, or CAD drafting program.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Strong oral and written communication skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced setting, multitasking ability,
Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
Must have reliable transportation to and from work.
Must be US citizen or permanent resident.
Have a valid Driver?s License
Some schedule flexibility will be allowed for the intern to pursue their education during the internship
