The UNC Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Division of Midwifery is seeking a certified nurse midwife for a permanent faculty position at the Clinical Instructor rank. Responsibilities will include providing full-range obstetrical and well-women gynecological health care in an established midwifery clinical practice of eight midwives. This position's responsibilities include performing full-scope midwifery care and facilitating Centering Groups in outpatient settings; providing 24/7 call, in-hospital deliveries and postpartum rounds of midwifery patients; and responding to emergent inpatient obstetrical/postpartum events as needed. Some night and weekend work is required. Additional responsibilities will include educating professional health care students, developing women's ambulatory service programs and participating in departmental activities. Practice locations will include the NC Women's Hospital and UNC OB-GYN at Weaver Crossing (both in Chapel Hill), UNC OB-GYN at Panther Creek (Cary) and any future UNC locations. Position will include shared distribution of clinics and call (24/7) among the current eight midwives providing these services.
Education and Experience:
Must hold a NC nursing license and approval to practice as a Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) in North Carolina. At least three years of experience as a CNM is preferred, although new grads will be considered with the following experience. Experience in a tertiary medical center, EPIC and Centering Pregnancy are required. Bi-lingual competence in Spanish is highly desirable. Salary will be commensurate with experience.
