The Research Associate role at CRLT contributes to the improvement and scholarship of teaching and learning across the University of Michigan and within its 19 schools and colleges.
BASIC FUNCTION AND RESPONSIBILITY: Contribute to assessment and evaluation projects, collaborate with CRLT staff on implementing and evaluating programs for instructional improvement.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED: General supervision is received from the Director of Assessment at CRLT.
Master's degree in social science, statistics or related field. Experience with quantitative analysis and working knowledge of statistical, analytic and reporting software (e.g., SPSS). University or college teaching experience. Strong organization and administrative skills. Ability to take directions, assume independent responsibility, and provide follow up. Strong attention to detail and the ability to successfully plan and implement program details. Ability to accommodate occasional work outside of standard business hours (8 a.m. - 5 p.m.) Ability to work across disciplinary boundaries and in a collaborative environment Experience with focus groups, interviews, and qualitative analysis
Doctorate completed in social science, statistics, or related field. Experience with educational research, educational measurement, assessment or evaluation in a university or professional setting. Experience with large datasets and/or learning analytics. Experience with instructional consulting/mentoring. Familiarity with the goals and objectives of CRLT. Familiarity with faculty, students, and academic units at a major research university. Experience with accreditation or institutional level assessment processes.
Work Schedule Hours/Week: 40 (100%) Term appointment, August 2019 - July 2020
