An auxiliary person who assists the nurse in providing care to patients and is under the supervision of a professional nurse. Assists in obtaining and caring for equipment. Helps maintain a safe and clean environment in the patient unit.
High School diploma or GED required.
Demonstrated communication skills, both written and verbal.
Must have recent nurse aide experience in an acute care inpatient setting, and basic computer skills.
Nurse Aide certification required.
BCLS certification required.
Must have and maintain a BLS Certification. Must be able to perform a wide range of physical activities which include moving, transporting and positioning patients and equipment as well and constantly positioning self to provide patient care and related duties.
Shift: Day Shift 7am - 3:30pm
This position is 24 hours per week: Every other weekend.
This position is covered under the collective bargaining agreement between the U-M and the AFSCME union, which contains and settles all matters with respect to wages, benefits, hours and other terms and conditions of employment.
