Under the general direction of the Resource Director, this position is responsible for the comprehensive planning and coordination of the campus Annual Budget Planning Process. Develops annual campus budget presentation for Chancellor's budget briefings and Chancellor's Cabinet meeting as well as other presentations such as Senate leadership meeting and legislative visits. Coordinates and organizes all VC budget submissions and financial templates and generates analytical and summary reports for campus leadership consumption. Serves as primary budget and financial analyst for Vice Chancellor Advancement and Vice Chancellor Equity, Diversity and Inclusion.
Formulates innovative methods to analyze, monitor and report on major campus wide functions. Performs comprehensive and complex financial analyses, modeling, projections and allocations of campus resources. Develops training programs and materials and conducts campus training on the budget. Provides the tools and applications necessary to facilitate submissions, communications and consolidations. Develops ad-hoc innovative approach to highly complex issues and develops policy options and recommendations. Possesses excellent verbal, written communication skills and outstanding coordination skills.
Interacts with OP personnel on issues pertinent to the University's budget. Performs independent reviews, research and analysis of state legislation, campus and system wide policies impacting major cost center and/or campus-wide programs. Identifies trends in revenues and spending in relation to policy and develops recommendations to campus leadership. Provides strategic recommendations for the development, interpretation and implementation of policies, procedures and mechanism to ensure campus financial accountability with respect to University financial commitments and fiduciary responsibility.
