Rowan University is seeking a part-time staff member for the International Center. This position is the primary administrative support for the Study Abroad programs.
Facilitate internal and external marketing and program information of each student exchange programs.
Promote and recruit for student exchange programs.
Visit classes & student clubs/organizations, create/distribute brochures, utilize Rowan Daily Mail, social media, the email campaigns/web sites to recruit students for the student exchange programs.
Create/Update web pages for each student exchange program on the study abroad web site.
Communicates with representatives from foreign colleges and universities to ensure the exchange programs are promoted successfully.
Create and maintain a comprehensive handbook for active exchange programs (including information about the institution, location, all costs, dates, courses available, housing, arrival airport, and application process/requirements, and images from the host institution).
Helps coordinate Rowan students' admissions to host institutions.
Collect and post information into computer or manual filing system.
Additional duties on Tuesday & Thursday: receive office visitors and/or telephone calls in a courteous and professional manner; answer routine questions; screen calls/callers; take messages and/or refer to appropriate personnel; pick-up, sort and deliver mail.
Operate office machines (such as: copier/scanner, PC, typewriter and calculator)
Knowledge of basic word processing, spreadsheet, presentation software and the ability to operate standard PC/PC software applications.
Knowledge of applicable university policies and procedures.
Positive interpersonal skills; good oral and written communication skills.
Ability to review materials and identify discrepancies or mistakes (example: proofreading).
Ability to respond to several demands at one time.
Ability to coordinate the work with others.
Ability to provide information and assistance to staff and customers.
Ability to comfortably interact with and assist students, visitors, and faculty of other ethnicities and cultures whose first language is not English.
Specific Study Abroad experience is desired.
