Northwestern College has an opening for a full-time student employment and payroll coordinator beginning July 1, 2019. This position reports to the human resources office and will oversee the college student employment program and process student payroll.
Working with students on available jobs, procedures, forms collection, time keeping and updating campus employment website
Working with supervisors on processes, policies and employment forms
Maintaining student employment database and coordinating work-study eligibility with the financial aid office
Accurately producing monthly student payroll and performing accounting functions related to payroll (tax reporting, W-2 processing, GL, etc.)
Working with the computing services office on file uploads and system modifications
Providing backup for employee payroll and assisting in other payroll or HR functions
The successful candidate will have:
A minimum of an associate’s degree in accounting, human resources or a related field is required. A bachelor’s degree is preferred.
Three to five years of related experience in payroll, general ledger and employment administration is preferred
Strong working knowledge of payroll software or related accounting systems and proficiency in Excel and Word
Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to interface effectively and professionally with students and supervisors
