Develops and manages extra-curricular programs in innovation practice, including the OnRamp program as determined by the Executive Director of the Center for Innovation Strategies; collaborates with external industry partners, and additional partners to deliver experiential learning opportunities for students; develops program content and instructs activities; creates and delivers outreach and engagement opportunities for students to lead activities for the business community; develops and manages program budget; serves as liaison between college and departments; participates in the recruitment of incoming participants and mentors; reviews applications and responds to inquiries; participates in sessions for students at orientation; Oversees the engagement of undergraduate and graduate level students to enhance innovation education through experiential learning opportunities in support of the university's mission with the purpose to inspire, mentor, and foster future business leaders and innovators who have the potential to shape the future; works in conjunction with academic partners across campus, responsible for creating, managing, and assessing various student programs, services, internships, and opportunities designed to prepare students to have an understanding of what is required to grow a business based on an innovative concept or technology they have developed; markets and coordinates student competition, assisting with arranging panelists, and coordinating the demo day pitch event. Employs multiple assessment methods to measure the effectiveness, tactics, and reach of the units and its programs to make decisions about future state; provides functional supervision to student staff hired to support the student experience; develops and promotes student outreach and engagement programs. Creates and seeks new ideas from conducting brainstorming workshops resulting in deriving and developing these ideas from a wide range of different markets. Develop and incubate disruptive innovation creations across multiple industries and sponsors into full business models that drives quantitated and profitable growth for the center and partners. Manage 20-40 student employees working on industry projects to deliver innovative products; Manage multiple projects in complex environment; Manage CIS student program websites; Manage and direct continuous improvement for all workshops, programs, and their implementation. Conducts primary customer research for early-stage ideation of ideas and programs; Research new innovation practices and new potential innovation spaces; Research and analysis of important issues of the future and recruit potential sponsors interested in the space to collaborate with the center and students; learn new innovative techniques and investigate new business insights; Research new markets, innovative strategies and new technologies to build a framework around and relay these new findings to students through innovative programs.
This is a TERM position lasting no longer than three years.
Master’s degree in engineering, or an equivalent combination of education and experience; experience in business administration or student affairs in higher education or like field; experience in program development and event planning; familiarity with Ohio State systems, culture, and university environment; strong track record of supporting and mentoring students interested in innovation, and marketing.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office.
Target Salary: $50,000.00 - $57,000.00 Annually
