Research Support - Laboratory/Non-Laboratory, Staff/Administrative

Summary of Duties:
Provide technical support for genetic work at the MCIC core facility: sequencing and genotyping sample/library preparation and processing using instrumentation such as DNA sequencers, genome analyzers, automated liquid handlers and PCR equipment; maintain instruments by performing routine maintenance tasks and calibration; coordinate the maintenance of the genetics equipment; assist users with experimental design and troubleshooting failed experiments; assist users, coordinate and oversee the use of genetics equipment housed at the core facility (such as phosphorimager, liquid handling robotics, TapeStation, Qubit fluorometer, Covaris and similar equipment); keep detailed records; organize and maintain laboratory inventory, order supplies; keep up-to-date with genetics technologies housed at the core facility by participating in research activities such as seminars and training session, review relevant literature.
Position located in Wooster, OH
Master's degree in Molecular Biology or Biotechnology or Genetics, or similar discipline, or an equivalent combination of experience and/or education; laboratory hand-on experience in molecular biology and genetics techniques used for genotyping and high throughput DNA sequencing; ability to follow standard protocols and to independently perform laboratory routine experiments; effective written and verbal communication in English
Target Salary: $16.35 - $18.75 Hourly
