Reporting to the Vice President of Advancement, the Director will provide leadership and vision in directing and strengthening a national alumnae/i and volunteer engagement program. Leading a team, the Director will be responsible for the development and implementation of programs and services designed to impact University strategic priorities, increase the donor pipeline, foster a culture of philanthropy among graduates, and engage alumnae/i and volunteers in meaningful ways.The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding and experience in philanthropy, alumni relations, and volunteer management. As a University committed to diversity, equity and inclusion, we seek applicants who embody and incorporate these values into their work, and have the ability to work with individuals across a broad range of social, cultural, personal, and other identities and perspectives.Responsibilities:Strategic LeadershipDevelop and execute a broad range of programs and services that address every stage of the alumnae/i lifecycle and the University strategic priorities?, while engaging alumnae/i and volunteers in meaningful ways;Create and implement a volunteer management strategy, identifying new philanthropic and volunteer leaders;Lead all Reunion planning, serving as partner with events team to deliver an effective and impactful reunion weekendHelp establish, oversee and manage the four College Councils and affiliate members, providing strategic direction as well as interactive opportunities for volunteers with University leadership;Serve as the voice of alumnae/i on campus as well as the University?s spokesperson with graduates;Manage an alumni communication strategy via print, social media and online, including sharing key University strategic priorities and accomplishments;Develop metrics and a process by which to track, measure and report on initiatives and their ROI, including identifying areas for improvement;Collaborate with campus partners and Advancement colleagues to create integrated strategies and well executed scale-able programs that support current strategic goals.Partner with AVP of Capital Gifts to build programming and volunteer opportunities that help identify and cultivate lead annual to major and mega prospects;Serve as an integral member of the Advancement team, providing alumnae/i perspective on communications, events and other initiatives;Stay current on industry trends, initiatives, and best practices to inform the alumnae/i and volunteer engagement strategy;OperationsLead, manage and develop a team of professionals;Develop and implement process and procedures by which to manage alumnae/i and volunteer operation that enable meeting key goals;Review and oversee the alumni and volunteer engagement budget, allocating resources to address strategic priorities;Partner with AVP of Advancement Communications, providing leadership and guidance in alumnae/i communications and solicitations;Other responsibilities as assigned.Qualifications:Bachelor's degree required, Masters? degree preferred;A minimum of 5-8 years of experience in alumni relations and/or external affairs with demonstrated accomplishment in managing volunteer groups, and fostering productive relationships with constituents, donors, volunteers, and institutional leaders;Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and writing skills, together with the ability to work collaboratively and courteously with colleagues throughout the University;Demonstrated ability to strategize, implement and build constituency programs and activities, along with a talent for motivating volunteers;High professional and ethical standards for handling confidential information;Ability to organize and complete multiple tasks simultaneously with close attention to detail and prioritization to meet deadlines;Experience with a constituent database, preferably Raiser?s Edge.Instructions to Applicants: Please submit a resume and cover letter in the Resume/CV section of your application.Salary GradeS09Instructions to Applicants: Please upload all applicable application materials (e.g. resume/cv, cover letter, writing sample, teaching philosophy, etc.) in the "Resume/CV" box on page 2 ("My Experience") of this application.
