The PAS Resource Specialist for the Digestive Health Center is responsible for handling the majority of incoming calls to the Digestive Health Center. Serves as a liaison and information resource for physicians, nursing support staff, coworkers, referring physician offices, OHSU Health Plan Office, patients and insurance companies on referral reqirements per diagnosis and service. Works for all practices in the Digestive Health Center and may serve as a float for all the DHC PAS Specialist and Resource Specialist positions including clinic Schedulers, GS Surgery Scheduling and managed care, and GI and GS Referral Coordinator within the Digestive Health Center as requested by the DHC management. This role will provide leadership and guidance for PAS Specialists, schedule a high volume of complicated patient procedures and clinic appointments, and return phone messages. Explains detailed complicated procedures to patients and answers any patient questions or concerns within scope. Works closely with the PMC clinic to facilitate and obtain records needed for pre-anesthesia screening for patients. Works closely with other medicine/surgery clinics for appointment coordination.
