The Division of Wellness within Recreation and Wellness is hiring for a fixed term part-time Events Coordinator from June 2019 - December 2019. The ideal candidate enjoys working directly with division staff, partners with on campus and outside vendors to create a community of well-being for through innovative and engaging events. This candidate is a self-starter, able to work independently, and is able to successfully track the many details of the special events. We seek someone with outstanding creativity, ability to work in diverse teams across disciplines, excellent communication skills, acute problem-solving skills, a good sense of humor and a sharp mind.
Under the direction of the Director of Wellness the Events Coordinator is responsible for implementing, facilitating and managing meaningful wellness events and the associated back office processing.
Responsible for the implementation of impactful wellness events, including the budgeting, resourcing and management of these events.
Excellent cross functional collaboration and project management skills
Experience in the design of wellness programs for large scale implementation
Coordinate BeWell events including but not limited to Sharing Wellness, Harvest Festival and Healthy Work Environment ambassador events.
Coordinate BeWell's participation in partner driven events such as Healthy Taste, Blood Drives, University Benefit Fairs, Cardinal Cares and the SLAC safety fair.
Coordinate with Recreation and Wellness divisions and other campus partners to participate in above mentioned events.
Collaborate with BeWell marketing and communications team to provide event details for emails and publications.
Research and purchase related event giveaways and drawing prizes.
Lead and manage event planning committees on BeWell driven events
Back office processing (10%):
Maintain records for approved special event budgets and purchases
Responsible for compiling event information for quarterly and annual reports.
Bachelor's degree required; minimum of 3-5 years wellness event programming
Demonstrated ability to complete tasks under deadline.
Ability to work independently and with good judgment under general supervision.
Demonstrated ability to set priorities in order to perform a high volume of detailed work under interruptions.
Strong working knowledge of MS Office and Excel.
Must be able to lift 30lb; excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
Ability to work non-standard hours when required to ensure the success of events.
