Northwestern University is seeking a Temporary Research Study Assistant for the Evanston campus.
Temporary Job Description:
Create the surveys in qualtrics (we have started them with our HERA materials but need to finalize everything, for example, not refer to roles in HERA, contextualize everything to antarctica).
Create planning documents so we can monitor and coordinate the day to day operations of the study.
Finalize procedure for enrolling participants and assigning ID numbers.
Establish an Antarctica team across labs to collect data and plan how the work below will be shared
Continuously thereafter through the period, our team will:
Receive and reply to those emails within 24 hours answering questions about the study (this will go on for a year).
Maintain a spreadsheet with names and other identifiers and our study issued ID numbers.
Keep track of who is filling out what survey when.
Send the survey links to participants when they are scheduled to be administered (some are weekly, some every other week, etc.).
Send email reminders to participants who do not fill things out completely or on time.
Correspond with the participants to schedule debrief interviews with as many of them as possible (done by some remote method like skype).
Conduct the prize raffle at the end of the study and mail the winner the prize.
Process any needed IRB amendments if we need to change or report things in process.
The requirements are:
IRB citi certification up to date, aware of the IRB protocol (how we are supposed to carry out the study).
Know the research protocol - what are the surveys, how often are they taken, etc. (so we ensure we get all the data we need and can answer questions that come up from participants).
Be responsive to participant questions and questions from the research coordinators on South Pole and McMurdo station. Attend meetings with the team on ice, NSF folks, NASA folks, etc.
