This position will support research projects and the related laboratory work and help maintain a mouse colony of 300-500 cages. Additionally, the position will perform basic bench procedures, lab management, and mouse colony duties. Human reconstruction in the blood and other tissues will be monitored by bleeding and by harvesting mouse tissues. The position will also assist postdoc fellows and students in performing HIV/HCV-related research in biochemical, immunological and virological assays.
Education and Experience:
Demonstrated possession of the competencies necessary to perform the work.
Basic laboratory experience in animal procedures, cell culture, and molecular biology.
Prior experience in lab maintenance including ordering supplies and preparing common reagents. Familiarity in working with mouse colonies, which include transplant, breeding, genotyping, PCR, Elisa. Ability to perform basic maintenance of lab equipment.
